Los
inventores del folk rock británico nunca tuvieron un hit y han pasado a la
historia como el grupo que no consiguió grabar más de dos discos con la misma
formación. En 1978 Vertigo les rescinde el contrato y Fairport Convention se
separan. Pero a finales de los 80 ya se habían convertido en uno de los grupos
de culto más potentes y sólidos. Su concierto anual en Cropredy se ha
convertido en un festival al que asisten 20.000 personas y su discografía
reciente ofrece tantas maravillas como sus discos de los 60 y 70.
